Frank Ocean Defeats Libel Lawsuit Filed by His Father

After being sued by his father for libel to the tune of $14.5 million, Frank Ocean has beat the case, as a California judge ruled that the singer did not defame him.

According to Law 360, the Blonde vocalist defeated the lawsuit as his estranged father, Calvin Cooksey, “failed to meet necessary elements to make his defamation claim.”

If you recall, Ocean’s father sued his son for damages after the California native’s 2016 Tumblr post recounted Cooksey calling a transgender waitress an anti-gay slur, which he says has lost him “financial opportunities in film and music.”
