2019: PDP speaks on endorsement of presidential candidate


The opposition party Peoples Democratic Party PDP has reacted to report that the key officials of the party has endorsed a presidential candidate for the 2019 general election.

According to a statement by National Organizing Secretary, Col Rtd Austin Akobundu, he described the report as false.

Col Akobundu emphasized that the Prince Uche Secondus-led NWC had repeatedly made it clear that all party congress, would be free, fair, transparent and open.

He said the newly rebranded PDP has no room for impunity thus is working towards a free and credible presidential primaries.

Akobundu said

“The attention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been drawn to a publication in one of the dailies claiming that one of the Presidential aspirants of our great party have been endorsed by the key leaders of our party.

“Nothing can be farther from the truth and all Nigerians are urged to disregard the publication as it is a fabrication from the imagination of the author even as he tried to make it look authoritative. It is calculated to create confusion.”
