Buhari desperation to foist Fayemi on Ekiti causes APC shooting- PDP

The peoples Democratic party in Ekiti state, has said that the desperation of president Mohammadu Buhari regime to foist on Ekiti state an unpopular person by all means and at all cost became evidence on Friday when the All progressive Congress candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi under heavy security supported by thugs came into Ado Ekiti.

The chairman of the party, Barr Gboyega Oguntuwase made this known in Ado Ekiti during the weekend in a statement that was made available to the press.

The PDP chairman, stressed that the overzealous thugs, Mobile police on illegal duty heavily supported by other Mopol brought Fayemi to Ekiti state with the instruction to kill and destroy; an instruction which almost consume one of the APC chieftains, Hon Opeyemi Bamidele while some other people were seriously wounded, saying one of the seriously wounded individuals included one of the thugs brought from Ondo State where most of Fayemi’s crowd were hired from.

Oguntuwase however called upon the traditional rulers and their chiefs in Ekiti state to invite Dr Kayode Fayemi and warn him not to turn the state into a theatre of war in his desperate bid to become Governor through unconventional methods by using force rather than persuasion to win the election.

He maintained that as a political Party, PDP will win The July 14 governorship election in Ekiti state in a free and fair and credible exercise while calling on international communities and observers to beam their searchlights on the state now that the APC candidate is surrounded by heavily armed thugs to terrorised the State and prevent the people from exercising their constitutional duties of electing a Governor of their choice.

The PDP chairman called on all security agencies to be guided by their oaths of office to maintain law and order and not to support the mad ambition to create an ungovernable state in Ekiti, adding that the Independent National Electoral Commission should ensure nothing less than free, fair and acceptable election.

Oguntuwase who called on all the members of PDP not to be provoked into violence said they should be alert to their primary responsibility of protecting their vote, saying the word federal might is nebulous and primitive which can’t operate without damming consequences.
