Corps Members have been urged to acquire entrepreneurial skills and become job creators.
The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, gave this charge today while addressing the 2017 Batch ‘B” Stream Stream One Corps Members at NYSC Orientation Camp Katsina, Katsina State.
He said the era of salary jobs is gradually fading away adding that only skills would stand the test of time.
Kazaure enjoined them to embrace Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development that the NYSC Scheme has offered Corps Members in order to empower them.
The Director-General also enjoined the Corps Members to aspire to become responsible future leaders.
Speaking further, he advised them to be security conscious and avoid night journey.
In her remarks, NYSC Katsina State Coordinator, Mrs Ramatu Sanda, said all Corps Members have been immunised against Yellow Fever.
She added that the 2,273 Corps Members that were deployed to the State comprising of 1,183 male and 1,090 female are well-behaved.
In a similar vein, General Kazaure, today addressed Corps Members that were deployed to Borno State but are having their Orientation Exercise at the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence CorpsTraining College, Katsina.
The Director-General implored them to acquaint themselves with the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC, which was designed to help them have a successful service year.
“You are all graduates, try and conduct yourself responsibly because Nigeria is looking up to you”.
“Be security conscious at all times and remember that you are in a different environment”, Kazaure added.
NYSC Borno State Coirdinator, Alhaji Rabiu Katsina, in his remark said the general conduct of the entire Camp Officials and the Corps Members are commendable.
