Douglas, the Brazilian defender of Barcelona, plans to return this month to Barcelona in order to negotiate his professional future.
Douglas, loaned by Barcelona to Benfica this season, has a contract with Barça until June 30, 2019, that is, one more season, but it seems that his intention is to find a way out. Douglas does not count for Ernesto Valverde, coach of Barcelona, and it seems that it does not count for Benfica either.
The next day 13 of major Benfica will end the season with the dispute of the last game of the league championship against Moreirense.
It will be Douglas’s final point to his stay at Benfica that has not been too positive. Despite having the support of the fans, Douglas has not counted on his coach, Rui Vitoria. This Saturday he could play the derby against Sporting de Portugal when injured Andre Almeida.
It would be his fourth participation in the Portuguese League. Against Tondela, the last day, in which he replaced the injured Almeida and was applauded by the fans, Douglas played his third game . He started against Chaves (19 day) and played the final minutes against Marítimo (25 day).
Douglas has not convinced the leaders of Benfica and will now return to Barcelona to negotiate his departure for another club.
