Police warns IPOB to steer clear of Anambra election

Following the protest by the proscribed Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB) threatening residents with death if they vote, the Nigerian police have warned the group to steer clear of Anambra election.

According to a statement released by the Public Relations officer of the Anambra State police command Nkiru Nwode, she said the march by IPOB members in Onitsha against the Governorship election was of no effect.

She urged residents to go out in mass and exercise their franchise on the day of the election.

Also speaking to newsmen Mr Jimoh Moshood warned the group to steer clear of the state and the Anambra election in November 18th.

He added that the police will deal with any IPOB member who tries to cause trouble on the day of the election

“They (IPOB) should steer clear of Anambra because we have deployed enough personnel in the state; any miscreant who misbehaves would have himself to blame as he would be dealt with. IPOB should not test our will or resolve,” Moshood cautioned.
