Zuckerberg overtakes Warrant Buffet to become the third richest man

From now on, the three richest people in the world are actors of the new technologies. Indeed, according to the Bloomberg index, Mark Zuckerberg has just overtaken Warren Buffet (the boss of the US conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway) on the ranking of the largest fortunes on the planet.

If Mark Zuckerberg has been considered one of the richest and most powerful people on the planet for years, this is the first time he has reached this position.

After weeks of post-Cambridge Analytica crisis, Facebook seems definitively handed over. And according to CNBC, on Friday, Facebook shares reached a record high, which allowed Mark Zuckerberg’s fortune to rise, to surpass that of Warren Buffet on Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

According to Bloomberg’s list, the fortune of Facebook’s boss is now estimated at $ 81.6 billion, 373 million more than that of Warren Buffet, the 87-year-old businessman.

Bloomberg List or Forbes List?

Bloomberg, which updates its list of the 500 largest fortunes daily, estimates that when added together, the fortunes achieved through technology total $ 5 trillion. And no other sector can claim such status.

As I write this article, the three richest people on the planet are (in order): Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Bill Gates (Facebook) and Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook).

Note, however, that on the billionaire ranking by Forbes magazine, Warren Buffet is still considered the third largest fortune. He is followed by Bernard Arnault (LVMH). And Mark Zuckerberg is still in fourth position
